Thanksgiving

It's Monday night, and we just returned from your first Thanksgiving in Wichita with the Regehr family. We left last Tuesday night and stayed in Tulsa with our friends Todd and Brook and Ava Grieco. Then we arrived in Wichita Wednesday around noon for lunch with mom and dad (your Grandpa and Grandma). Thursday we went to uncle Donovan's house for Thanksgiving lunch with the extended Regehr family: Great Grandpa & Grandma; Donovan, Laurie, Jordon, Justin & Jerod; Curtis, Tammy, Caleb, Amanda, Melinda, Katrina and Bethany; Wes & Beth; Grandpa Jerry, Grandma Sandy, Aunt Kim, Uncle Phil, Kaitlyn and Olivia. We had a great time, and you got lots of kisses and attention. Friday & Saturday we spent with Kim, Phil & your cousins Kaitlyn and Olivia, and Grandpa and Grandma. We ate good food and watched a lot of football. We also ate at the Olive Garden which was your first meal out to dinner. You did very well - mostly slept during our meal.
On Sunday, Kendra & I packed up the truck and went to Kansas City to watch the Chiefs play against the Patriots. This was our first professional football game, and we had a really great time. You stayed at Grandpa & Grandma's house, and I hear you had a really fun time playing and napping. That evening, we returned from KC and Kim and Phil were at the house, so we were able to have a little more time playing with your cousins and visiting.

The time seems to fly by - almost a whole week, but it seemed like only a couple of short days. We made it back to Conway in about 6.5 hours which is pretty fast. Kendra mentioned that she noticed that you really seemed to be aware that you were back home. I guess she felt like you were more relaxed. We spent the evening watching Monday Night Football - you LOVE watching football on TV. Right now, Kendra is holding you in front of her and you are facing the TV leaning forward toward it. It's hilarious. We love you litte man.

Edging closer to the breaking point

Hi buddy. It's WAY to late to be posting, but I have been silent for the past 2 weeks. In that time, I have started a new job at Edgewater Technologies - the company that layed me off in 2002. That's about it. Ha. Last week (week #1) I put in around 60 hours with evenings and days completely booked. It will be more of the same this week. I worked from home today (my heart's desire), and got a ton of stuff accomplished. This is a really boring post.

So this past weekend you were sick and Kendra got a little ill herself. I remained healthy thankfully and we got through. You're still feeling a little under the weather. Tonight, we took you to Target to shop for Christmas. The moment was lost on you as you slept the time away in the cart. When we got home, you started crying...wailing really. We didn't know what to do for you. It turns out that you had some monster GAS pain. :) There it is. Mr. Farty Butt. Once you got going, you really let 'em out. And we were glad that you weren't suffering anymore.

Earlier this evening, when you arrived home with your momma, you melted my heart. When you saw me, your little eyes lit up, and (it's making me tear up now) you started smiling and talking and giggling, and the 3 of us had a great little reunion. These little moments make us all the more aware of how precious you are to us. Kendra wanted me to be sure to note that this was the very first time that she actually hear you "giggle" or laugh purposefully. It was extremely moving.

Well, as I said it's incredibly late, and I'm going to get a flu shot in the morning - 8am at your mother's insistence. I love you.
