Back in the swing of things...

This past week has been a bit of a trip because I'm getting back into the routine. The routine that was left behind one week ago... It's nice to get back, and hard at the same time. Work (at Perks.com) was pretty good (though challenges sometimes come where I least expect them), chores around the house are a bummer, catching up on my reading was really good. I finished Fast Food Nation which I borrowed from your Aunt Tiffany while we were in D.C.Fast Food Nation I may never allow you to eat ground beef unless I cook it here at home, or unless we know where it came from and who prepared it. That book talks about some of the practices in meat packing plants. It's not very appetizing. I makes me much more appreciative of the gift of meat that my grandparents would give my family when I was growing up. They would have a cow butchered and split up between all the families. Talk about fresh, high quality meat! That's about as good as it gets. Wow, I never meant to go on this tangent...heheh. So, this week in the evenings I have been getting the pictures and memories of our trip onto my website.
Here's the link. We had an incredible time, and saw a lot of historic sites. There is too much to see in D.C. to take in all in the span of a week. I can't wait to show you one day!
Today, your mom and I bought some mulch for the front yard, and flowers for the back yard, and planted them late in the afternoon.Flowers Tonight was game 4 of the Miami Heat / Washington Wizards playoff series. Miami won the game, and swept the series. Washington was just overmatched in this series. It was a great game though, and we thought that the Wizards might pull out this one game. I think that the Heat will take the championship this year. I discovered today that our lawn sprinkler system is not working properly. The water pressure is too low. I called Rob Lively (previous owner of the house), and he gave me some suggestions. I also got some suggestions from a guy at Home Depot. I checked a few things that they recommended, but nothing turned up. I also looked all over the web, and got to know my sprinkler system much better. However, nothing fixed the problem, and tomorrow I'll have to try a few more things...ugh. Sometimes, I wish I had a no maintenance yard. No mowing, no weeding, no sprinkler issues, no edging...just living! Until that day, I have plans to get you into the yard work schedule by age 3. Ha!
Love you buddy!
