Routines

You are now in a pretty good routine with us, your family. Each night, we give you a bath, then I feed you a little bit larger meal than normal, and put you down for the night. As I'm feeding you, I rock you and when you're done, I sit you on my knee and burp you ("Can you give daddy some air?"). Then I hold you for a little bit against my chest while you settle down into a nice sleepy state. When I lay you in your crib, you usually fuss just a little, then need your pacifier. You also tend to put your little legs straight up in the air...all with your eyes closed. It's pretty darn funny. The biggest problem is that once in awhile your arms will flail which usually wakes you up a little. It's a precious time for me to watch you, and help you get to sleep each night. As a bonus, you've been sleeping through the night pretty well for the past few weeks. That means that we put you down around 11:30p and you get up around 6:30a. Before you came along, I would have thought that schedule was completely abusive, but I'm getting used to it now. I love seeing you each morning and evening. You're a really cute little guy, and I really enjoy holding you and playing with you each day.
Love, Dad.
